The Dartmoor Halfway Inn has 12th century origins and is renowned for its extensive menu. It was originally a 'change' coaching house that provided change of horses for private carriages, and a bed for the night.

The 'Halfway' title indicated that it is midway between Ashburton and Newton Abbot. It provides a cosy, on-site atmosphere completing the uniqueness of its facilities and its central location, only 4 miles from Dartmoor. It is an ideal centre for visiting most of Devon.
